At the beginning of this year, I made an intentional choice to slow down my consumption and focus on creating more. As someone who rarely buys new clothes, I have already been prioritizing thrifting, secondhand shopping, and shopping local. Beginning my sewing journey became an exciting adventure of creating garments with second hand and thrifted fabrics, adding to the originality of my pieces, and helping me further create the curated wardrobe of my dreams.

Most of my experience with apparel has been in the form of crochet which has been such a cozy medium to work in. Being able to transfer those skills into sewing, and constantly expand upon my knowledge of garment construction and costuming has been an incredibly rewarding personal journey. Having the privilege to make clothes for myself that make me feel the most confident in my identity is one of my greatest joys.
